"100 Salt Lake City Porches, No.61"; Poured watercolor on 10" x 14" paper. |
It was the wooden swing that caught my eye to this porch. I could just picture a lazy Saturday afternoon watching the kids swing beneath the tree all the while I'm leisurely enjoying the shade on the porch. For this poured watercolor I used a mixed blue ( 50/50 of phathlo blue and ultramarine blue), a mixed yellow (40/30 of medium yellow and yellow ochre) and a mixed red (cadmium red with a bit of scarlet red). What can I say I was in a mood to mix? Then to finish it off a I did a bit of puddle painting where I, of course, was mixing in little puddles of water. I guess you could say it was a bit of an adult version of child's play. The porches may slow down a bit for the next week as I heading off to do a bit of vacationing up in Montana. But we'll see. I'm planning on taking my watercolor painting supplies in tow and perhaps I'll have sometime to paint between cycling and sightseeing. To check out the progress of 100 Salt Lake City Porches,
